Prepping myself for a beercation! Heading to Asheville for a few days to hike, sightsee, and of course spend time in the South Slope Brewery District. Any recommendations?? Also will keep you updated on any Non-Rev Nightmares.
Oviedo Brewing Company in Oviedo, FL
After spending literally an entire day sleeping (I blame it on the redeyes), I redeemed myself by spending the next whole day outside of the house — and rewarded myself with beer.
Venice Beach, CA
I was fortunate enough to spend a month living on the Venice canals a few years back, so I was excited to get back there during a long L.A. layover. Checked out the skate park, watched a bodybuilding competition, and survived a 6.6 earthquake, proving Venice Beach is still just as weird and extravagant as ever.
La Colombe in Philadelphia International Airport
On this episode of Micki's Non-Rev Nightmares, I woke up at 6am to fly back to Orlando from Atlantic City. The flight from AC was overbooked, as they usually are — though typically, I still get on.
Of course this time, when I had work the next day, I did not.
I give credit to the gate agents who, in a last ditch effort to get me on the plane, asked a deadheading pilot if he could so kindly sit in the cockpit so I could have his seat.•He said no. (And to that pilot: I will find you, and I will... Give you a stern talking to on courtesy.)
The evening flight to Orlando was also overbooked, so I rented a car and drove to Philly. There, I attempted to get on an American Airlines flight, but was 26th on the standby list of another overbooked flight. No go.
I ran two terminals over in hopes of getting on a Southwest flight that only had one seat open and I was the last of 3 on the standby list. Luckily, the other two didn't show up and a non-revving Southwest flight attendant was KIND ENOUGH (please take note, Spirit pilot) to jumpseat so I could have her seat.
Made it to work, fueled by La Colombe coffee.
Warped Tour 2019 (Day 2) in Atlantic City, NJ
Warped Tour Day 2! Second day was a marathon instead of a race as all of the bands I was excited to see played back-to-back. Ditched the earplugs, crowdsurfed for the first time in like 10 years, and sipped on $19 mixed drinks.
Warped Tour 2019 in Atlantic City, NJ
Warped Tour Day 1! Started going to Warped in 2006 and was not about to miss the anniversary tour in my hometown. Also the first concert I've ever worn earplugs… Despite getting rained out for a bit it was an amazing first day!
Downtown Container Park in Las Vegas, NV
Las Vegas, NV // Can't think of anything trendier than shops and restaurants made out of shipping containers, amirite??
Makers & Finders in Las Vegas, NV
Really let the millennial in me run wild and free during brunch at Makers & Finders, complete with a hibiscus mimosa in a mason jar, egg white omelet, and avocado toast.
Las Vegas, NV
Viva La Croix! I mean, Las Vegas! Spent the morning like a tourist exploring the Strip. Watched a girl get proposed to (she said yes). Talked to Elvis about living the Jeep Life. All before 10am.
Toasted UCF in Orlando, FL
Haven't been able to smell or taste anything for the past few days as my body fights off a sinus infection, but that didn't stop me from testing my senses at Toasted UCF. I'm sure it was delicious! Can't wait to give it a try when I can fully appreciate it!
The Cowfish Burger Sushi Bar in Orlando, FL
Hit a lot of firsts today! First time at Universal (okay, City Walk). First time eating proper sushi. First time taking my shoes off at a restaurant bc they were rain soaked. First time almost fainting in front of a billion people — oh wait I've done that one plenty of times before.
Olympic Flame Pancake House in Myrtle Beach, SC
Stoked to finally get a Myrtle layover! Slept until noon (whoops), had a great brunch, and walked the boardwalk before heading back to Orlando for the night.
